Tucker's Guy-key

When Lindsay Ann was a baby my mom took a cloth diaper and added some white and pink lace to the ends and gave it to Lindsay Ann to use as a security blanket. Lindsay Ann loved her security blanket and carried it every where. My mom and I referred to it as the "diaper" as soon as Lindsay Ann could talk she translated "diaper" as "guy-key" don't ask me how, but I have had friends tell me they have heard it translated the same. After learning to sew I made little quilts for girls as their "guykeys. So with Lindsay Ann expecting my first grandchild it was time to make guykeys for a new generation. I chose to make the guykey out of the boxer shorts Eric had given me to make his stocking and cuff for Kendall. Below are the steps I took in creating this gift for my grandbaby.

Making the the squares

Laying out the design, its like putting a puzzle together
Kendall helped me with this, its harder than you think.

Top pieced together

The underside is soft white minky fabric and I bound it with satin.
I wanted all the feel good fabrics I could incorporate.

Lindsay Ann and Eric loved it!
