Fire Cracker Red.....WOW!!

Britta is a fabulous decorator!! She has always been so generous in helping me with the girls rooms. I used to love doing this, but have little time for it now. Here is Britta's latest creation. Lacey's Room. Warning..............we love color!!

Better!

I am glad to say that I feel much better now. My mental health was helped along by a very sweet note from my friend Amy, she is very spiritual. Today I am hanging out with the girls! We are going shopping for fabric for curtains and dust ruffles. The girls have plans later with their big big sister Lindsay Ann( I'll write more about this later, as it is a surprise). I will be doing homework while they are gone. Happy Day!

Pain, Pain go away!

I have been home sick yesterday and today, not really sick more like crippled. I hurt my back and muscles across my rib cage, it hurts to breath and move. I am a little better today. I am trying to sit up and do some things so I can go back to work. I am starting to knit the cupcake hat above. I made one recently and a girl at work wants one, so I am making her one. I have managed to knit a couple of rows. Along with not feeling well I am a little sad.(probably partial drug induced) Today is my ex-husband's birthday, he is fifty. I am still amazed that after all this time he still refuses to communicate with me, to the point that he would rather not see his children than to send me an email to set up visitation. He has only seen Kendall and Lacey for 3 hours or less a month for the past 10 months. Ifeel for them and I am helpless. It is very hard when the most important job in the world to you is your children and you can't keep them from hurting or make their father spend time with them. I am glad that he is finally spending time with Lindsay Ann and Britta. I have come a long long way, but I still miss the time when we were all together.

Quilting Bee

Yesterday we had the first session of the Jeremiah Frog Quilting Bee. Named in honor of our cousin's favorite song "Joy To The World" by Three Dog Night. Aunt Jan as we call her, is a very important part of our lives, she is the daughter of my Great Aunt Marie, who was like a Grandmother to me and Great Grandmother to my girls. Jan is famous for her Easter and Christmas Eve gatherings! At every gathering we all sing along to her favorite song when it is played.
Jan has a quilt top made by her Great, Great Grandmother (my Great, Great, Great) and has been working on quilting it. With her job, family and volunteer work occupying most of her life, she has very little time to work on it. We decided a quilting bee with all of us stitching would be a great way to help her get it completed. So yesterday, Jan, Lindsay Ann, Britta, Kendall, Lacey and I met at Jan's. In between listening to music, drinking Bloody Mary's and Coke, eating homemade chocolate chip cookies, chicken salad and my special cheese croissants we stitched. We shared memories of Aunt Marie who died on December 16, 2008 and looked at the memorial powerpoint that Jan had made honoring her. We had such a good time and actually made some progress. We will meet again in the spring.

Staying connected!

When I first signed up for Facebook, I felt ridiculous and silly! I thought it was just for teens and young adults and now just about everybody has one! Now I am starting a blog and feeling the same way again. My goal in all these endevors was/is to stay in touch and really know what was going on in my girls lives, not in a stalking, I'm going to catch you doing something bad kinda way, but in seeing pictures and feeling a connection on some level everyday. I'm not really a phone kind of person, I much rather email, then I don't feel like I am interrupting. Facebook has been fun, but when Lindsay Ann my oldest got married, she started a blog. I soon found out that Facebook was not giving me real details. With Lindsay Ann's blogs I felt like she was still at home and I knew about everything she was up to. I got to see pictures of her students during her student teaching, baking she did for them and little every day things she and Eric did in their first months of marriage, I loved it. Then I realized that she was missing out on little details in our household too! I've always wanted my family to be close and knowing what is going on in their lives is the best way for this to happen. Sooo here goes!
